Gaia ; COPENHAGEN FASHION WEEK A/W12

A graduate of Fashion Design with Knitwear at Central Saint Martins College in London, Gaia Brandt Rasmussen set up her label in 2009. Combining knits with vintage garments, simple silhouettes and an appealing treatment of colour make up GAIA’s´s unmistakable look. We adore the handmade one-offs that were inspired by 30s and 40s ski wear. Her references to Russian Constructivism leave a mysterious and poetic picture of the world we live in. There is a visual tension between illusion and reality, which is inspired by everyday lives and the world of art.
